In the beginning

We burned for each other

Like comets

Fiery, trapped in each others’ orbits

We were a bright light in a world of dark

We found each other even though we were originally light years apart

Galaxies away

Then, as swift as the big bang

You got lost in a bigger light’s orbit

And the sun took you away

And then

Even after we tried to change our course

We burned ourselves away

And there was nothing left of us

But dust

Useless, meaningless space dust

Traveling throughout the universe

Forever alone

Forever adrift

Loneliness inevitable
